AI Retargeting turns your AI-discovered visitors into an audience you can actually advertise to. The problem it solves: someone finds you through ChatGPT or Gemini, doesn’t buy on the first visit, and vanishes — and because that traffic often lands in analytics as “Direct,” you can’t easily retarget it. This page syncs those AI-referred visitors into Meta Custom Audiences and Google Customer Match, so you can run retargeting campaigns against the LLM channel and then see what came back. Set up retargeting is the first thing you’ll do, and it’s a simple three-step connect. Connect Meta authorizes agentShop (via AgentPay) to push your AI-discovered visitors into Meta Custom Audiences. Connect Google does the same for Google Customer Match, which covers retargeting on Search and YouTube. Once both are authorized, step three flips to “You’re all set” — audiences start syncing and campaigns can run. You need to connect at least one ad platform for the performance data below to populate. The Attribution Funnel shows the top of that pipeline over your chosen window (7, 14, or 30 days): how many AI Visitors from LLM you captured, and how many were Synced to Ad Audiences. Until you connect an ad platform, the Ad Performance section stays empty — that’s the prompt to finish setup, not a bug. The Retargeting Journey is the most interesting part: it tracks how AI-referred visitors move through touchpoints before they buy or drop off, split into three columns.
  • LLM Referral — the visitors who arrived from AI in the first place, broken down by assistant (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini). This is your starting pool.
  • Came back via — how those visitors returned: through an AI assistant again, Direct (no ad spend), Meta ads, or Google ads (retargeting clicks). It shows what share of AI-referred visitors came back through each path — so you can see whether people are returning on their own or because your retargeting pulled them.
  • Outcome — the payoff over the window: how many Closed (bought, with the share of visitors that converted) versus Dropped (no purchase). Note the caveat: closed orders may also show up in Meta’s or Google’s own reporting, so don’t double-count across systems.
Why this page matters strategically: AI-referred shoppers who come back convert far better than first-timers, which makes retargeting this segment one of the highest-yield levers you have. But you can only retarget an audience you can reach — and that’s exactly what the sync creates. Connect the platforms once, and the Retargeting Journey tells you whether that spend is actually bringing AI shoppers back to close.
